JUST ASKING FOR HELP IN INSTAGRAM MADE ME START MY COMPANIES

JUST ASKING FOR HELP IN INSTAGRAM MADE ME START MY COMPANIES

I was confused. I didn’t know what to do with the first book I had written. As a writer, one of the most confusing and demotivating things is having your manuscript and with no publisher ready to publish that book.
I had gone through that. And when I thought that after teaching myself how to self-publish that things would be fine, things weren’t as I thought.
I was having my book, Test Your Anatomy: MCQs with answers, in softcopy with no place to print it. When I thought of selling it as a softcopy, my conscience didn’t allow it. I was thinking of how people sell e-books in WhatsApp groups at Ksh 30 or even less, and that was something I never wanted with my book.
It was during this difficult time in my writing journey that I came across a lady in Instagram that had written a book for someone. The lady named Lubnah Abdulhalim helped me in a simple way that was a changing point in my life.

I was never afraid of seeking for help from her. I was never ashamed of my situation. More so, I knew that I would lose nothing and if I got help, then I would have gained everything.
I explained my situation to her and she was ready to help me. She referred me to one phenomenal man who is my number two role model, after me. Don’t get confused. My number one role model is always the person I want to be tomorrow.

His name is Gabriel Dinda, the Founder & CEO of Writers Guild Kenya (WGK). After talking with Gabriel through the phone, we met in a certain restaurant in Nairobi. In our first meeting, he guided me on how I would first make my book better and more amazing. The lessons I learnt in the 30 minutes I was with him are one that I even teach people whenever I am given a chance. And of course, I can’t forget that he’s the one that paid for the tea I took in that restaurant.
On our departure, he took me to a certain bookshop and advised me to get in so that I could have a look at the books inside the bookshop. The bookshop’s name is Prestige, the one located along Mama Ngina Street in Nairobi. He left as I went in.
The experience I got in Prestige bookshop was one that I cannot even explain about. Saying that it was marvelous even seems as an underestimation.

I later came to join Writers Guild Kenya, a family of beautiful and amazing writers that have been brought together by Gabriel Dinda. All I can say is that, I love this family.
It is the family that has groomed me into the author of the 16 medical books that I am today. It is the family that has made me incorporate 2 publishing companies that are there today: Medwax Publishers (a medical publishing firm) and Sandavo Publishers.
It is the family that has made me become branded Kenya’s youngest medical author.
It is the family that has made me start my foundation to support struggling single mothers called DR AUDI STRONG MAMA FOUNDATION.
It is the family that made my friend (Amina Suleiman) and I start a writing initiative to support fellow writers in Kwale County called KWALE PEN PEOPLE.

As I launch my two books on 22nd December at Ukunda Polytechnic, on the same day we shall be launching the initiative (Kwale Pen People); I have one success secret to you. NEVER BE AFRAID or ASHAMED TO ASK FOR HELP. If I had not asked for help from Lubnah, where would I be today? Only God knows.

Asking for help is one topic I have discussed in the book I will launch on 22nd December called THE SECRETS. THE SECRETS is a motivational book that contains my experiences as a young author, Founder and CEO of Medwax Corporation Africa Ltd and the Co-founder of Sandavo Group of Companies in the last two years.
On that day too, I will be launching my other motivational book called LIFE LESSONS MEDICAL SCHOOL TAUGHT ME. This is a book that I have completely donated to my foundation to support struggling single mothers facing difficult times.

Finally, I take this humble time to welcome you to my book launch and the launch of our organization on 22nd December, 2018. Above all, never shy asking for help.

SI WEWE NACHAPA, NI HIO MAKOSA YAKO

SI WEWE NACHAPA, NI HIO MAKOSA YAKO FAILURE ARTICLE SPONSORED BY: SANDAVO PUBLISHERS Failure, according to Merriam-Webster, is a lack of success. A lot has been written and said about failure and this is what I have to jot down about it too. I am a product of a lot of failures and a subscriber to the anti-failure regime. I have this disease by the name chronic ambition, and I am ambitious that after reading this article you will have another definition of school, home and work life. Ambition is a strong desire to do or achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work. Life is sometimes like an onion, and you have to slice it one layer at a time which sometimes makes us tear up and cry. It is sometimes usually a painful journey which you do not know when it will end. Nevertheless, it is the same onions that make our meals palatable and lick our fingers at the end. Things happen to us in life, we get slapped and beaten around and many are the time we ta...
